Good. It seemed like what Idel said had been the right thing. He was grateful that he had pushed ahead. Even moreso when the soldier very unexpectedly rushed forward to grasp around Idel's middle in a fierce hug. In that hug, while it was wholly unexpected, Idel finally realized that Nick was happy. That, while there was still some hesitation about volunteering to go to the goddess, Nick was thrilled with the possibility. And, Nick's sunshine was contagious, igniting all the feelings that the shimmer earlier that morning had brought to Idel's mind and body.

Idel found himself nodding in agreement when Nick talked about what he would miss, and Idel was proud to know it. He had done everything in his power to foster a spirit of teamwork and community in his soldiers, and hearing Nick's words made Idel feel accomplished in a big sense. It was all very touching, really.

A little awkwardly, Idel patted Nick's back a few times and pulled Nick in closer just before Nick released. It was not every day Idel received such a quality hug. When it was done, Nick looked considerably more relaxed and surprised his captain yet again with a request that implied that Nick would in fact be going.

Wow, that was easy, Idel thought. His mental image of himself brushed his hands together a few times to congratulate himself on a job well done. If each captain found one soldier to send to the goddess, they would have ten in no time, and Idel had already done his part. And pleased a soldier to tears in the process. What a great day.

"Every heroic detail, kid. You won't miss a beat," Idel said with a wide smile. Man, he really want gonna miss Nick. Idel might be tearing up himself.
