Evan couldn't deny that a spike of jealousy cut through his core at the sight of the goddess entwined with Philip. Though, a part of him also enjoyed the image, amused at seeing Philip limp and succumbed to lust. The captain absently rolled his shoulder as the goddess bit down on Philip's neck, the place on Evan's own neck that the goddess had bitten before resonating and recalling that experience. He began walking towards the goddess and her thralls, hardly intending on standing still and watching.

The goddess didn't pay all that much more attention to Philip, though, and soon enough had her gaze set on Evan as she leaned over the table before her. Evan kept walking, tensely but calmly, doing his best to ignore the sights of her electrically-glowing skin and her breasts beckoning his attention from their barely-contained states within her dress.

The captain rolled his eyes openly when she said she didn't like to be kept waiting. Some part of his mind registered the thunder clap and its ominous context, but outwardly he didn't react to it beyond responding to the goddess' comment.

"Maybe next time we should clarify when and how you expect me."

His tone of voice was biting from the start, and only grew sharper as his mind turned to the moment the goddess had snapped the cock ring she'd placed on him, leaving him and Xavier to navigate the tension and confusion left in her wake. His eyes winced and narrowed, and he slammed his hands down firmly on the metal table once he reached it, his own skin nearly glowing with the anger searing through him.

"We should also clarify," he practically growled, "that I expected you not to assail any of our soldiers while I held up my end of the deal, and that included possessing them for any reason. Going forward, I expect that to never happen again."

Dehaljadrun purred somewhere deep in her throat as Evan's jealousy reached her, though it was too low for Evan to have possibly heard. Lovely, this was having its intended effect. Her smirk deepened slightly at Evan's first comment and then more dramatically at his second, especially as his hands hit the table. She was, she admitted, surprised at the physical display of his anger, but it only deepened her satisfaction.

"Here for fewer than 10 seconds, and you're already making demands of your goddess." Her hands retracted slightly as she straightened her back somewhat, but now her hands lay flat against the table. She did, however, send slight waves of electricity through the metallic, shimmering table, only enough to make Evan's hands tingle, at least at first. It did make her hands glow, but that could have been a trick of the strange light the table reflected.

"You should learn to choose your words more carefully. How else do you expect to navigate the underworld?" After this, she increased the intensity of the electricity through the table, which Evan might feel as a slight biting sensation at this point, if he had not yet removed his hands.

It was tempting to snap back 'not my goddess,' after the goddess' initial response--where the first time she'd called herself his goddess had felt welcoming, this time it felt presumptuous as fuck. He didn't quite get the words out of his mouth before she continued, though, and something about how she followed up threw off his train of thought, especially paired with the tingling sensations against his palms and the glow of the goddess' hands across the table. It was, in some ways, a lot to process all at once--his indignation; his newly sparked curiosity and confusion; the split between wanting to pull his hands away from the table or keep them stubbornly set in place. He ended up leaning into the table as the sensation turned biting, his icy glare doing its very best to slice the goddess in two.

"Argue fine print all you like, you know damn well you acted in bad faith."

He admittedly hadn't thought far beyond expressing his anger about that and demanding it not happen again, though--which, no, he certainly had not missed that she had yet to agree to. He also wanted to demand something in retribution, both on principle and for the sake of strategy; at some point he had to negotiate for the Shel'ti, somehow. But how to broach any of that? What could he realistically threaten if she didn't oblige? What could he realistically offer to entice her to oblige?

The captain went ahead and stood straight again, pulling his hands back from the table in a surge of wanting to take something away from her, and surely she was enjoying whatever she was doing to the table--to his skin. Removing that contact felt at least dimly satisfying, though he wasn't entirely sure where he wanted to go from there.

((OOC: I don't think he would go very long before doing or saying something else, but we found ourselves assuming Dehaljadrun would probably speak or act before he decided on what he wanted to do next.))

When Evan leaned into the table harder, Dehaljadrun was beside herself with pleasure. Fuck, he's angry, and that only makes him more of a masochist. She had to keep herself from full-out grinning, although she was tempted as, surely, that would only piss him off more. His glare was starting to do something to her, though. She didn't want him to hate her, but she felt like she had a long way to go before she hit that mark; she would have to do a lot more than amp up the sexual tension Evan had with Xavier, certainly.

The goddess took a moment to think of a reply, during which time Evan pulled his hands away from the table. What a shame. And here she thought she might continue getting him to voluntarily shock himself. Ah, well. She'd get around to that before the night was over, surely.

Knowing full well that Evan had exceedingly little to negotiate with--except... well, himself, but she wasn't about to make that clear--the goddess said, "If I was truly acting in bad faith, I would have done far worse to the boy." As she spoke, the goddess straightened completely, her hands on the table now useless anyway, and began walking around the far corner toward Evan, her dress in full view.

"I could have enthralled him. I could have ravaged his body before you could ever get to it..." She was almost halfway around the table now, taking slow, dramatic steps toward Evan that accentuated both her hips and breasts with every movement.

"I could have told him how you feel about him," Dehaljadrun said matter-of-factly as though there was nothing to debate about how that would go. "Don't think I haven't noticed." At this, the goddess raised an eyebrow and then almost theatrically shrugged, which had the effect of exposing yet more of her breasts.

"But all I did was borrow his body for a few, delicious seconds; demand you say my name; and help him find the courage to reach into your pants, pull at your lightning band, and..." Yet again, she replayed the memory of the shock the three of them experienced in Evan's mind, this time allowing the reactions of her own body to show through. She shivered pleasantly, closing her eyes briefly before turning her gaze pointedly back toward Evan, a daring look in her expression.

((OOC: Meanwhile, we're like, of course you can't just tell him you did it because you missed him. And she's like, "obviously."))

Evan watched the goddess' approach with the best poker face he could muster--which, really, was a pretty good one, all things considered. The upshot of already being pissed was it helped mitigate the fluster the goddess might have otherwise pulled out, though parts of his mind certainly glanced languorously at the images the goddess alluded to, of Xavier enthralled and his body ravaged. The thoughts kicked up storms of jealousy, possessiveness, protectiveness, rage, and lust, all swirling together through Evan's core, but contained. Whatever the goddess could glean by supernatural means, on the outside, the captain still looked on with an immutable icy glare, even as the goddess' body demanded his gaze and memories of the shock whirled to the forefront again, all starting to tug the captain's attention back into his pants.

If this were just another human he was dealing with, he'd already have her on the ground, terrified of his wrath, and rightfully so. But he'd grappled with this goddess the night before; he knew she could overpower him, and he wasn't keen on experiencing humiliation on top of everything else right now. So, steady cutting glare it was; at least that felt in his power to maintain.

"Don't touch him again."

Some part of him recognized that he was yielding some ground from where he started this conversation, but he couldn't bring himself to care. As much as on principle he wanted her to keep out of everyone in his army, Xavier was the person that he was truly pissed about, and right now, his anger was keeping him from moving on to honestly more important matters. If he could just get this, maybe he could actually start thinking straight.

The goddess was thoroughly pleased at the storm raging inside Evan but was incredibly impressed by the way he held it all together. Dehaljadrun continued walking toward him, nearly within reach now, a hand absently caressing one side of her hip.

"Fine, I won't touch him. Physically or otherwise. But there's absolutely nothing keeping me from touching you..." Wanting to distract him, wanting to flare up his anger even further, and just plain wanting him drove the goddess to make her statement incredibly obvious as she closed the distance between them and placed a hand lightly on his shoulder, walking behind him as she did so, allowing her hand to slide delicately across the back of his exposed, sweat-chilled neck. There was no electricity this time, or rather, nothing she was doing intentionally. She only wanted him to feel her touch, to ache for it, to become distracted despite--and perhaps because of--the delectable anger she had risen up in him.

Dehaljadrun only let him feel her fingers for a moment, though, as she continued walking around the table, her back turned to Evan.

"...and I'll remember this. You'll be making up for it tonight," she said over one shoulder.

((OOC: She certainly has plans if Evan does not try anything now, but we figured we would pause to give him the chance to react.))

Relief flooded through Evan as the goddess agreed to leave Xavier be. If he accomplished nothing else tonight, he could at least reassure his lieutenant when he returned, and that alone was worth quite a lot to him.

He tried to hold up his stonewall exterior, but between relief releasing so many muscles all at once and the goddess' fingers exciting the nerves on his back, the captain couldn't help a sigh escaping his lips, nor his shoulders shivering when the goddess' touch left him. On some level his knees wanted to buckle; he was already so tired. Fuck. He supposed that was the down side to running before this, but he still wasn't sure he'd be any better off if he hadn't. Try as he might to ignore her allure, the goddess was potent, and it was entirely possible--likely, even--that the swimming feeling in his head and the unsteadiness of his legs had absolutely nothing to do with having gone for a run.

He vaguely registered that the goddess' last comment was meant to be threatening, but it landed more as just... expected, he supposed. Desirable, even, in some twisted sense--of course she could touch him; of course she could torture him. That was precisely what he'd agreed to from the start, as far as he understood. And if he had to withstand something harder on account of protecting his lieutenant... well, at least where he stood right now, he couldn't fathom wanting to trade the other direction.

He should say something, though. Go ahead and ask after the Shel'ti? No, now didn't seem like the moment... when he'd asked for the extra soldier back the previous night, it had been impulsive, precisely at a time when he actually had something to bargain with. As things stood now, he was already in debt in this conversation, having made his demand up front with nothing to offer besides his show of rage. He didn't regret that at all, but he'd need to handle less personal things a bit more strategically.

"Looking forward to it," he said after a short pause, his voice still cold and biting. He would have liked to say it with a cocky grin instead, but he wasn't quite there yet; although deeply relieved to have gotten her agreement about Xavier, he was still frustrated at the situation and his lack of power in it, and the best he could muster was more of his icy glare.

Dehaljadrun disconcertingly laughed upon hearing Evan's comment. Echoing her sentiment exactly. Well, down to business, then.

The goddess turned around once she returned to the head of the table and took a moment to size Evan up. Sweat-soaked, tired, disheveled, he was a mess, and it seemed that he was losing the flame of his anger, even. How was he going to withstand her in that kind of a state? She was going to have to do better than this. For a moment, she was tempted toward despair--maybe she had pinned too many of her hopes on this man, this emotional, hot-headed, risk-taking captain who seemed to care more about his lieutenant than his cause.

She let her disappointment show in her face, hoping to at least make him uncomfortable. He did have a point, however. She hadn't given him any instructions about how to show up for her. Well, she could, at the very least, remedy that, assuming Evan made it to the following night. She was doubtful, at present. Men in far less exhausted states had fallen on the first.

Finished taking inventory of Evan's state, Dehaljadrun walked around the other table so Evan could clearly see exactly what she was doing there. She picked up the purple stone-like object on the left side with a tenderness that almost seemed out of character, added a small jolt of electricity to it, and then began caressing it gently with one finger. The thrall on the left immediately let out a moan, shivers obvious down his spine in time with her tracing her finger over the stone. She let out another small jolt of electricity, and this time it was very apparent that the man felt it, his body shaking, though he quickly regained some kind of composure. Putting that stone down gently, she picked up the one on the right, sent it a small jolt of electricity, and gently rubbed the stone against one side of her collarbone. The thrall called Philip appeared to attempt to reach up as though for the goddess as if she were actually against him, her chest pressed against his. Slowly, she moved the stone to her sternum between her breasts and stroked the back of the stone, which overwhelmed Philip with sensation. She then sent a large jolt of electricity through the stone, and Philip shook violently, hitting the ground after his muscles could not manage to contain the current. He lay there for a few moments in recovery before he was standing again, out of breath but ready once more to receive instruction.

The goddess put that stone down and began moving toward the third, elevated stone. Glancing at Evan mischievously, she leaned down and blew gently over it. She then picked it up and drug the stone down the full length of her torso, across one of her breasts and down the diagonal straps over one of her hips, but knew that Evan would feel none of it.

Holding the stone now in her outstretched palm, electric glow prepared in the other hand, she finally said, "So tell me, Captain Rutliff, are you going to get on the table or should I make you?"

The goddess' laugh stung at Evan's ears, and of all the things he might have expected to see on her face when she turned back towards him, disappointment was not one of them. He outwardly scoffed, covering up that he felt a punch straight to his gut. He'd seen that expression so many times before, on so many different faces, and despite his guarding against it, his desperate attempts to numb himself to it, it always fucking stung--at least on the face of anyone whose opinion he cared about, and, well, clearly, he cared about hers. Ughhhh.

What was she even disappointed about, though? Evan had certainly sensed her sizing him up. If it was about his dishevelled appearance, he really fucking wished she'd been pissed about it instead--insulted; indignant; anything other than or at least beyond disappointed. He narrowed his eyes and clenched a fist at his side as he watched her move back towards the other table, and he tried to keep from feeling like his stomach was dropping straight down into a pit.

It helped when the thrall he didn't recognize let out a moan. He was intrigued to see the man shiver seemingly in response to the goddess' caress on the stone. Intrigued and, of course, uneasy, but uneasy in a way that was arguably familiar by now, or at least expected. His cock tugged at the edges of his attention again, swelling softly at the other man's moans and shivers, and the thought that they could be elicited all by touching a rock. The excitement only increased to see those effects on Philip, and a smirk finally tugged at Evan's lips. He saw no reason to push down the satisfaction he felt at seeing the lieutenant so exposed and responsive, a far cry from the boring frigid exterior Evan knew. Gods, just about the only thing more entertaining would be if Blake--

Evan shifted his weight to the side and clenched his jaw behind his smirk, suddenly realizing that there was reason to push that satisfaction down, because it was a pretty fucking shitty thing to feel, no matter how much irritation he'd experienced towards Philip in the past. A pang of guilt tugged at his core, about the same time as Philip went down, and Evan swallowed uncomfortably, his smirk now something more like a wince, though the excitement in his gut still tugged incessantly at his attention.

A quick jolt of fear shot down the captain's spine as the goddess turned her attention to the third stone; it didn't seem like a stretch to worry whether, in the absence of a third thrall for that particular stone to affect, the goddess meant to use it on him. Which, certainly, would be on some level exciting, but he didn't like to think that she could exert that kind of influence over him quite so easily. He certainly didn't intend to be sent to the ground just because the goddess shocked a stone. A shiver did run up the back of his neck when the goddess blew on the stone's surface, but he was pretty sure that was his own brain fucking with him. He was relieved when she picked it up and ran it over the curves of her body and he felt nothing--well, not nothing, but nothing out of the ordinary. The motion certainly brought his eyes over her body again, reminded his hands that they wanted badly to touch her, but he would have felt those things regardless of whether she'd held that stone in her hand when she did it.

He did certainly note the glow in her other hand when she addressed him, but, for better or for worse, he didn't let it dim his smirk as it came back in full force, and this time quite a bit cocky.

"By all means," he crooned, his tone quite a bit brighter now, "make me."

Dehaljadrun was pleased that everything she was doing to Evan seemed to be eliciting the desired response. The scoff of his voice fell like music on her ears, and with it came all his frustration. Yes, this was exactly what she wanted. She was ever more pleased when Evan was clearly affected by the sounds of the first thrall, and she was nearly ecstatic at his reaction to the second. That Evan knew Philip and felt guilty about enjoying his pain made this situation all the more enticing.

And then the dare. The bait. The bite. He was taking it. Thank the gods, he was going to fight her.

The goddess lifted her eyebrow again and smiled deeply. She sent a jolt of electricity through the stone Evan had pulled from the pool, which connected it to Evan's body. Though he would not feel the initial shock, he would feel everything else she did to it until it cooled.

Delicately, she brought it to her lips as though she were going to kiss it, but then, with the stone less than an inch away, she slowly and subtly reached out with her tongue and licked the curved edge of the flat stone, which she knew would send that sensation all the way down Evan's spine, his torso, all of his nervous system tingling with her touch as though it were on him directly.

Thus confident that Evan was distracted, she said to her thralls, "Get him onto the table," at which point, both of them were spurred into action, supernaturally aided in strength by their desire to please and do absolutely anything for their goddess. The men flanked Evan, prepared to lift and pin him down onto the metallic, glimmering table that appeared ever more sinister in the dimming light of the moon.

And as if that weren't enough, she sent a jolt of electricity at only slightly less intensity than the one she gave Philip straight into the stone she was currently holding. She couldn't deny that it would, in part, serve as a method of comparison. Though she ached to push Evan to his very limits, she knew she couldn't start off at full potency if she wanted him to survive this.

((OOC: The thralls are not inhumanly strong, but they are inhumanly motivated. Evan can struggle as much as he'd like, but I think he'd have a difficult time preventing them from getting him on the table. Let me know if you need any other information about how they would get him there. Feel free to make assumptions.))
