Need to Know

Andra and T have been doing a lot of the brainstorming in Discord, but some of it happened in person as well.

Recording some of it here for future use.

The primary story is set in approximately 12,000 BCE, before the Taurid meteor disaster that happened around that time and remade human civilization as we understand it. The story begins in a settlement inside modern-day Syria, near what is now known as Lake Assad, along the Euphrates River. The settlement's name for the purpose of this story is "Cat's Claw," but it has been referred to as "Tell Abu Hureyra," with "tell" being the term for a settlement. The region was known for its melted glass during this time. It's possible that none of the settlement's pottery survived the asteroid.

There is some historical indication that this settlement was destroyed around 12,000 BCE by a meteor, and we are imagining that the story begins about five years before this will happen. There are some beings in the story who may have premonitions about this event. We also want there to be room for a nonlinear experience of time or perhaps multiple incarnations of beings. This will evolve over time and may turn into separate threads in this world/forum.

We are imagining that Satyr/Gwen is running some kind of informal guest house in this tell, and other beings who might be interested in evolving actions may come into play.

Jaz is interested in being somewhere in the tell.

Sage is interested in being here.

Kashiri may represent a member of the Council of Nine (see The Ra Contact) if we manage to take the issue to that level of spiritual development.

I suspect that other characters will fill in as it is fun.

Overall, Andra tends to roleplay such that no one in the story is an "NPC," so to speak, meaning that each character in the story -is- an alter in one of our systems or is an alter playing a part for the sake of the story. But, it is very important to us that the characters lead the story at all times, even if that takes the plot off track, so to speak. This is part of the process of agency.

T, feel free to add more notes here about things you want to add about your characters, any additional background information, or just brainstorming type thoughts.

Also, we use "OOC" to mean "out of character" and convey information that the in-scene characters may not know but that might be helpful for the other writer to know.

For example:

((OOC: We are imagining that it is raining outside. If this is a problem, let me know.))

Yay!
